4 Ha of Additional Green Open Space Considered Too Small

Jakarta Provincial Government keeps working to meet the target of Green Open Space (RTH) area by 30 percent. In fact, the effort always constrained by land acquisition problem.

Heru Bambang Ernanto, Citizen Participation Section of Jakarta Park and Cemetery Head, admitted, has difficulty buying the land for RTH. His side just completed 3-4 hectare of land this year.

"We just added very small amount for 2014, only 3-4 hectare. It is too small," said Ernanto, Thursday (11/27).

Pure Water Supply Disrupted by Pipe Leakage

The RTH land addition is spread on 10 locations in the capital. But, Ernanto did not tell the detail. Total RTH in Jakarta is still 9.5-9.8 percent.

According to him, the overlapping of land administration in the city also constrained the effort. Meanwhile, the land in dispute status sometimes extend the time process.

"Rp 450 billion is returned due to heirs conflict," he added.

Regulation of Provincial Spatial Planning (RTRW) orders to reach RTH by 30 percent from the capital area in 2030. While in draft of the detailed spatial planning (RDTR) the RTH addition is divided between government and privates. Government just need to reach 16 percent and the reast is for privates.

"Private has responsibility to support us adding the RTH," he continued.
